How would you make gold if you had low capital?
The Just My Two Copper: WoW Gold Blogging Carnival is just around the corner and I was really excited to see this months carnival being about making gold with low capital. We all have to start somewhere and its not like the game just gives it to us. Ok so maybe it does after years of doing it but if your reading this you are most likely not a WoW Gold Millionaire. So here it is sit back, relax and read my blog post because it's what all the cool kids do these days.
There is many ways that you can really make this happen but today I will be explaining my favorite and most lucrative way at a low level or even a maxed level character that just doesn't have the capital to really dive into the wider aspects of gold making. A lot of people that play wow work or just have a lot going on in their real lives so they don't have time to really get into it. I will do my best to reach out to all of you to make the gold you need with only an hour or two a day of really pushing.
What you will need:
Here is a list of all the add-ons that will help you get started with low capital to making gold in no time.
Gatherer - Gatherer is an addon for herbalists, miners and treasure hunters in World of Warcraft. It's main purpose is to track the closest plants, deposits and treasure locations on your minimap.
The addon does not track like a tracking ability does, rather it "remembers" where you have found various items in the past. It does this whenever you gather (perform herbalism, mining or opening) on an item, and records the specific map location in its history. From then on, whenever the item comes into range of being one of the closest 1-25 (configurable) items to your present location, it will pop up on you minimap.
To start posting your auctions on the AH you will want to use Auctionator or TSM. I prefer using Auctionator but its all up to you. Go to the "Sell" tab on Auctionator (As pictured below) and drag your items to the sell area, it will search the prices and price your items by the minimum undercut to maximize profits. If its an item that sells for a lot and you are putting auctions up at night try and middle cut the items rather then undercut them to keep the prices a little higher since you aren't on anyway. It will be more likely for the item to sell if its a hot item that sells all day long.
Another thing to remember when posting items is to diversify in how you list the items. Try posting a few singles a few stacks of five a few stacks of 10 and a few stacks of 20 when you list. Remember not everyone needs a full stack of items, test the waters before you dive into always posting in different amounts. I have found that sometimes an item will only ever sell in 20 stacks or 5 stacks etc.. Its all about learning the ropes and figuring out which works best for you and your buyers.
Well that should get you started on your adventure to gold cap or just to get you enough gold to raid weekly, you can pick your poison. Just remember it takes time for some things to sell so don't get discouraged if something does not sell, just repost it and move on to the next thing. Another thing you should not do is flood the auction house with whatever you are selling. Try and just post a few stacks at a time or try posting a lot if it sells a lot and you may just be flooded with gold in the morning. Flooding usually does not work but its something you can try.
Thanks for reading, I hope you found this post useful.
Warning! This can make you a lot of gold, but can also make you Loot Crazed so approach with caution!

What you will need:
- At least a level 5 character.
- Add-Ons to save you time and to help you from pulling your hair out. (Links will be provided below)
- Gathering Professions. ( I will discuss this more below)
- 2-3 Hours a day or less.
Here is a list of all the add-ons that will help you get started with low capital to making gold in no time.

Auctionator - Auctionator makes the auction house easier to use, by presenting auction house listings clearly and succinctly, and by eliminating the tedium involved in posting and managing auctions.
TradeSkillMaster - TradeSkillMaster is a MODULE BASED system to help both NEW Auctioneers and the MOST ELITE AUCTION GOBLINS manage everything related to the Auction House! Our goal is to work hand-in-hand with our community to develop an all-inclusive suite of modules that, when used together, follows our users through every single auction and crafting related function, making them as much gold in as automated of an environment as possible while still following blizz Terms of Service very closely.
Professions:
Here is a great list of all of the professions that are available in the game. This list contains links to all of the professions and the absolute fastest way to level them from 1-525. It is your choice in which ones you want to pick but here are my suggestions to get you started. I suggest that you start with mining and herbalism, especially since cataclysm was released you can track both on your mini-map. It will make you a nice big profit and fairly fast too.
There are so many nodes in the lower level zones of copper and peacebloom that may sell from 3-5g a stack depending on your server. Higher level characters can make a lot more especially since a lot of people are doing the obsidium / elementium ore shuffle sure 35-50g a stack does not seem like a ton but if you are putting in the time each day and listing each night you will most likely have a mailbox full of gold each night. That is just the ore aspect of this guide. There is plenty of herbs that can go anywhere from 30-250g a stack depending on your server. So adding those two together can make you some great gold in a few hours of farming a zone.
This is where gatherer comes into play, you will want to keep gatherer turned on so that it will remember where you found a node/herb so that next time you do your route you can see where it will be most likely to spawn again which can save you a lot of time so you are not wasting your time doing paths that have no herbs/nodes to farm up.

Auctioning:
So you have been mining/picking herbs for a few hours now and you want to know the best methods of selling them. The best days for making the most money from ore/herbs tends to be on Wednesdays and Thursdays though this will vary per server so make sure you are using The Undermine Journal to check your servers sales and when they sell most. Now you will want to start posting once you have figured out your servers typical price ranges etc. To start posting your auctions on the AH you will want to use Auctionator or TSM.
